Federal Government Target 1.4 million Beneficiaries in 2nd Phase of Trade Money 


The federal government of Nigeria, through the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management yesterday flagged off the second phase of the trade money, targeting over 1.4 million beneficiaries across the country. 


The minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Sadiya Umar Faruk stated this on Thursday 6th October 2022 at a program held in Dutse in Jigawa capital. The minister said the second phase is to consolidate the achievements and success of the first phase. 


According to Faruk, when President Mohammadu Buhari took over the mantle of power in 2005, over 70% of Nigerians are living below poverty level. 


President Buhari established Social Intervention program (SIP), under which many empowerment and intervention programmes were initiated and implemented to tackle the challenges 


The minister also said that the targeted beneficiaries in the second phase will receive 50,000 to enhance their small business.
